Rebirth brings together innumerable life stories when incorporating work tools, toy parts, car parts, motorcycles, etc. into a new character of history, a tree that is born impregnated with so many characters’ pasts that, in an unconscious way, contributed to this new existence. The artist is also reborn when he sees revealed a talent that he has always carried latent inside him.

Ronaldo Tavares is a locksmith-welder who has worked for many years at the Usina de Arte. Encouraged by the first artist-curator of the Usina, José Rufino, and by everyone else, he thus created his tribute to the workers of the old sugarcane mill. He then created ‘Renascer’, a large mechanical collage transformed into a metaphor for Nature. He also composed with other recovered elements, the lampposts of the Usina’s entrance. Let's see what this Brazilian “Facteur Cheval” will invent to surprise us in the future?
